United We Stitch
A Nationwide Community Art Project
Welcome to United We Stitch!
We are a grass roots, non-partisan, organization bringing diverse peoples together to share their dreams for democracy in America. If you remember the Aids Quilt Project, then you remember the impact that project had on finding a cure for Aids. Today, so many benefit from that outpouring of concern, from all over the nation, and the world.
Through United We Stitch, we strive to realize similar results, as folks from all over the country join together to create visual messages for democracy in these United States of America; the democracy she has defended for 250 years.
Please join us. Gather your tribe and some art supplies to create panels for this very important collective art project. No sewing expertise needed. You can paint, draw, stitch or use whatever method you are comfortable with to create panels. Directions can be found at unitedwestitch.com.
Soon, our calendar and map will be available to find events with others in your area who are participating. Or…organize and list an event for your community.
Let’s show the world that American Democracy is alive and well. When we dream together, who knows how much we can achieve!
Please look around the site and share with all your friends. Let’s make United We Stitch the message that our country needs right now.
At unitedwestitch.com, every story deserves a panel.

This is amazing!!!
As we look towards the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, I was struck by something I heard today - that our government cannot be For the People unless it is By the People. This is a time for individuals and communities to reflect on our Democracy – to express their hopes and dreams for our country. To visually declare those values and principles that have the power to unite us as a people.
